A and I had a great mini-break this weekend to St Louis. We walked around the zoo (St Louis has a great zoo in Forest Park, and the best part is its free!) We then went to the City Museum which I'd heard about for a couple of years and never been to. It was fantastic. Full of kids- would have been better at night when it turns into several bars, but still pretty amazing. It's this huge old shoe factory that has been turned into a big playground- indoor and out and is full of recycled pieces of architecture and found objects- an eclectic warehouse sized scuplture. I loved these walls- made of old letterpress plates:

Here's A in part of the outdoor playground- we're up in an old church tower and we actually took that crazy path from the plane to get here. It was super sccarry, but fun. We were kinda slow because the tunnels are more kid-sized! It was raining by then so we didn't spend a whole lot of time up there. I wish we lived closer- they have an art studio upstairs that is just open for people who visit the museum, circus classes for kids, and a glass-blowing studio that has classes. It was pretty fascinating.

And finally, a pic from the float trip I went on on the Big Piney River a few weeks ago- the sun was setting as we got into camp and I shot this picture.

Nice Web-LOG!
Field work with men, I might prefer pulling off my toenails with pliers. I honestly believe there is no creature more vile than a man in the field and there is nothing you can do about it (unless you want to be the uptight CHICK on the crew - also horrible). However, I am jealous of your excursion to the City Museum. One of my favorite places in the WORLD! Remember next time, there is no rule saying you can't hit the bar during the day, I've done it before and I promise they won't judge you there!
